Attend Glandale’s Japanese Plastering Workshop at Shoseian Tea House and Friendship Garden

The Shoseian Tea House and Friendship Garden will host three expert craftsmen from Japan who will demonstrate how to build a traditional wall with a special covering called “Juraku”.  The event will be on Feb 17 from 1-3 p.m. in Brand Library Park in Glendale. Children are invited to inscribe messages of peace and unity into the wall as the plaster is drying.  Guests will be able to learn about the different traditional plastering methods from three master plasterers from Japan. Visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful Japanese garden and see the amazing renovation that is taking place inside the tea house.  Families are invited to come and bring a picnic lunch.  There will be snacks and treats available for sale. This event is free to the public.
